Mangilao – The Northern Guam Soil & Water Conservation District is thrilled to celebrate the success of their 3-Day Educators Symposium, a premier event designed to enhance local teachers' ability to incorporate Guam-based environmental information into their curricula while also receiving school credits under the PD894 Class at University of Guam. This impactful symposium took place from July 24-26, 2024, at the Guam Museum.
This year's symposium, themed "May The Forests Be With You, Always," aimed to equip educators with the tools and knowledge necessary to foster environmental stewardship and cultural awareness among students. As part of the initiative, participants gained insights into Guam’s unique ecosystems, cultural heritage, and the pressing environmental issues facing the island.

“Blessed to have been invited to this event. I enjoyed my time and learned so much,” said Victoria Naputi, VSA Benavente Middle School teacher.
“I enjoyed learning here at the museum - in the theater and the conference room. And our field trip is tops!! What a moving experience - such a blessing to learn and continue to be a part of these sacred spaces,” said Anna Palacios, John F. Kennedy High School coordinator.
