Barrigada, Guam — The Northern Guam Soil & Water Conservation District proudly participated in the 2026 Annual Science Fair hosted by Luis P. Untalan Middle School on March 19, 2026. The event brought together students, educators, and community members to celebrate creativity, scientific thinking, and innovation.
During the Science Fair, students presented a wide range of projects highlighting STEAM concepts, including experiments and research related to sea, soil, water, and many more topics, demonstrating their curiosity, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The variety of projects showcased the students’ growing understanding of the natural environment and their ability to apply scientific principles in practical ways. Many projects also emphasized real-world applications of science, including environmental conservation, sustainability, and community well-being.
The Northern Guam Soil and Water Conservation District participated in the event by engaging with students, answering questions, and sharing information about the importance of protecting Guam’s natural resources. Representatives from the District provided guidance on topics such as soil health, water conservation, and sustainable practices, helping students connect their classroom knowledge with real-world environmental challenges.
“This Science Fair provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with students, support their learning, and encourage their interest in STEAM fields,” said Rosanna Rosario, Outreach Specialist. “We are inspired by their creativity and dedication, and we hope these experiences motivate students to continue exploring science and sustainability in their everyday lives.”
Representatives from the District in attendance included Rosanna Rosario and Jenelyn Abinales. The District also documented several of the students’ projects in photographs, which are available for media use upon request.
The Annual Science Fair is an important event that promotes academic excellence, hands-on learning, and community involvement. By participating, the Northern Guam Soil & Water Conservation District continues its mission to educate youth, foster environmental awareness, and cultivate the next generation of scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers across Guam.
The Northern Guam Soil & Water Conservation District remains committed to supporting educational outreach and initiatives that promote sustainability, conservation, and STEM learning throughout the island.
